Our Funeral Directors
Douglas P. "Doug" Meloan,
was born and raised in Manhattan. Doug attended local schools and is a 1979 graduate of Manhattan High School.
He attended Kansas State University prior to finishing his mortuary science degree in Kansas City in 1981. Doug is
married to Elaine (Dickerson), also a Manhattan native and 1979 graduate of Manhattan High School. Elaine is a 1983
graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Food Science and Industry. She is employed with the American
Institute of Baking as a Technical Manager. Doug and Elaine have two adult children, Julie and Dane. Doug joined
the funeral home staff in 1981 as an apprentice and became a partner in the firm in 1988. Locally he is a member
of the First United Methodist Church, Manhattan Kiwanis Club, of which he is a past state lieutenant governor, The Manhattan Rotary Club, and
serves as a Trustee for the Manhattan Community Foundation. He is a member of the Yard Art Classics Car Club, Antique
Automobile Club of America and the Route 66 Association of Kansas. Professional memberships include the Kansas
Funeral Directors Association, of which he is a past state president, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Eric S. Londeen,
a Chapman, Kansas native, is a third generation funeral director. Eric attended Kansas State University and then
graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College with his Associates in Mortuary Science in December 1985. Eric
joined the funeral home staff as an apprentice in 1986, and became a partner in 1993. Eric's wife, Julie, currently
has a bookkeeping business in their home after having worked for many years at Kansas Farm Bureau and later Realty
Executives Weis Real Estate. Eric and Julie have two daughters, Kirsten and Emily. Locally Eric is a member of the
First Lutheran Church, Manhattan Sunflower Lions Club, Lafayette Lodge # 16 A.F. & A.M., ISIS Temple of Salina, KS,
Manhattan Shrine Club, Stagg Hill Golf Course and serves on the board of directors of Homecare and Hospice Foundation.
Professionally Eric is a member of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association of which he serves on the board of directors,
and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Brian W. Waddington, grew up in Belleville, Kansas and graduated from Decatur Community High School, Oberlin, Kansas in 1990. He
graduated from the Kansas City Kansas Community College of Mortuary Science with and Associate of Arts degree in
1993. Brian worked as a funeral director in Washington, Kansas and Smith Center, Kansas prior to moving to
Manhattan. He joined the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in January of 2005. Brian is a member of the
Masonic Lodge is a Shriner and attends the St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Professional memberships include the
Kansas Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. Brian’s hobbies include: dirt
track racing, fishing and spending time with his girlfriend and his family.
Shane D. Lohse,
joined the staff of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in September of 2008 as an apprentice
funeral director. Originally from Hanover, Kansas, he graduated from Hanover High School in 1999.
In 2008 he graduated from the Kansas City Kansas Community College with an Associates Degree in
Mortuary Science. While attending college he lived and worked at a funeral home in Lawrence, Kansas.
He and his wife, Traci, moved to Manhattan in December of 2008 after previously living in Topeka.
An avid sports fan Shane is a registered sports official with the Kansas High School Activities
Association in the sports of basketball and football. His hobbies include playing golf and fishing.
Shane and his wife enjoy traveling and attending sporting events of any kind. Shane's professional
memberships include the Kansas Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors
Association.
