Obituary: 

Robert Harvey Redman, age 63, of Manhattan, died March 7, 2010, at his residence as the result of an extended battle with cancer.

He was born August 11, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Robert Reynard and Anna (Gastmans) Redman, and had been a Manhattan resident the past 35 years.

Mr. Redman served in the United States Army for 21 years. He had served in Vietnam and retired at the rank of E-7. Following his military retirement he worked for Kansas State University for facilities, and later for USD 383 as a paraprofessional helping handicapped/disabled children in physical education classes.

Robert loved to fish, buy/sell antiques and collectibles, go to auctions, flea markets and cruise Mexico and the Caribbean.

On February 14, 1970, at Custer Hill Chapel at Fort Riley he was married to the former Charlene Street. Mrs. Redman survives of the home. Additional survivors include one son, Robert Reynard Redman II of Manhattan; one brother, Ronald Redman of East Lansing, MI; one sister, Annette Curry of Jackson, MI; and one grandson, Ethan Redman of Lawrence, KS.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Alan Redman.

Cremation is planned with memorial services to be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 27th, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Neubauer officiating.
